PRESS RELEASE: eola GBR Series returns this summer
The eola GBR Series returns in 2021 with the first race taking place on 3rd July at Norwich, after a year off due to the pandemic last summer.
This is the first year in which the GBR Series will be supported by booking and management system providers, eola, who are the headline sponsors for this year’s races.
The eola GBR Series will bring the highest level of ski racing on UK artificial slopes during five races at outdoor facilities and five on indoor snow.
The races will feature some of the UK’s most promising skiers, giving them a chance to participate in regular ski races at exceptional standard across most age groups – from under-10 through to masters.
All events are sanctioned by the Home Nations Governing Bodies with Snowsport England, Snowsport Scotland and Snowsport Wales, all hosting races meaning races will be running across the country.
The eola GBR series kicks off with a double weekend on 3rd and 4th July at Norfolk Snowsports Club, with the indoor races starting on 17th and 18th July at Chill Factore.
The series will also visit Llandudno, Hillend and Braehead.
Snowsport England CEO Tim Fawke said: “It has been a hugely challenging year for everyone and it has been great to see activity and races get back up and running.
“It is fantastic we have a full eola GBR series planned and I am excited to see the series kick off at Norfolk.
“I would like to welcome eola as headline sponsor, it’s great to have them on board for what should be a great series.”
Tim Fawke, CEO Snowsport England
Co-founder and CEO of eola Callum Hemsley said: “We’re very excited that the series is back up and running this year. Our mission to support the activity sector and get more people out participating in amazing experiences is more important to us than ever.
"We believe the eola GBR series will be a wonderful platform for competitive participation.
"We’re looking forward to our continued collaboration with the three snowsport governing bodies to grow the accessibility and awareness of these great sports.”
