Hire is unguided, so an instructor doesn't come out with you. Everyone gets a safety and basic skills briefing before going on the water, even if they've paddled before, but the team advises complete beginners to have a lesson before paddleboarding on their own.
Everyone must be able to swim at least 50m, and under-18s must have an adult with them on the water. Children aged 5 to 8 can sit on the front of an adult's paddleboard, and those aged 8 and over can have their own board if conditions allow. Double kayaks are for ages 8 and over and single kayaks for ages 10 and over.
Yes, on the tandem paddleboard, which is designed for two adults plus a child or a dog. Only one person is allowed on a standard single paddleboard, apart from children aged 5 to 8 sharing with an adult.
