Introducing Deposits: Give customers more flexibility at checkout

We’ve just launched a brand new feature designed to make booking easier and more flexible for your customers: Deposits.

With Deposits, customers can secure their booking with a partial payment upfront, then we send automatic reminder emails to ensure the balance is paid before their visit.

Why offer Deposits?

Deposits give customers more choice in how they pay, helping reduce friction at checkout.

This can:

• Improve conversion across all types of experiences
• Make it easier for customers to commit earlier
• Be especially effective for higher-value bookings

It’s a simple way to offer more flexibility without adding any extra admin on your side.

How it works for your customers

When Deposits are enabled:

• Customers will see on the product page if a deposit option is available
• At checkout, they can choose to pay either the full amount or just the deposit
• We send reminder emails to ensure payments are completed on time

If a customer books multiple items:

• They can still check out in one go
• Deposit-eligible items are split, while non-eligible items are paid in full

How it works for you

Deposits are configured per product, giving you full control:

• Enable deposits only for the products you choose
• Set either a fixed amount or a percentage as the deposit
• Define a minimum booking window so deposits aren’t available for last-minute bookings

Getting set up

It only takes a few steps:

1. Enable the Deposits App
2. Edit your Activities or Accommodation
3. Set your deposit (fixed or percentage)

That’s it, your customers will immediately see the option where available.
