Kayak rental on the River Stort. Meeting at Kecksys Farm Marina on Cambridge Road Sawbridgeworth CM219BZ

Parking available on site or if traveling by train it is a short walk along the navigation north from Sawbridgeworth station. with paddling options to paddle towards Spellbrook Lock in two hours. A longer three to four hour paddle will allow time to stop for refreshments at a local riverside pub or a cafe stop at Southmill lock.

We recommend a two hour session if you plan to paddle and portage the river to get upstream to Spellbrook . We only hire to experienced paddlers on the river.

Please let us know your ability so we can tailor the session or recommend an alternative guided paddle around your requirements, which may be more suitable. Paddlers will be undertaking this experience independently.

An ability to paddle and undertake a self rescue to empty a boat is required for our hire sessions. The river banks are fairly accessible and the river sections we use are fairly easy to paddle in either direction as there are tow paths along the bank for paddlers and access in case of a capsize.

Bring a change of clothing for after the trip. We ask that all equipment is left clean and sponged out after your hire session.

we have no access to any changing rooms or toilet facilities as we operate our business from a canoe trailers we only have very basic facilities.
