Explore The Lake By Kayak

Explore Ullswater in comfort with expert tuition using a two person sea kayak or canoe. Get the best view and explore hidden bays and islands, and see Ullswater from a different perspective.

After safety briefing and demonstration, you’ll head out from our private jetty into Ullswater. 

It’s a great opportunity to connect with nature with a chance of seeing, or hearing, herons, cormorants, oystercatchers, buzzards, sparrowhawks, tawny owls and if you’re lucky the blue dart of a kingfisher. Learn from your instructor about the wildlife living above the surface and swimming in the depths below.

As you turn to paddle back to the hotel, you’ll see the full view of the Ullswater valley. On windier days we may use our rafted canoe option for safety. 

All equipment including waterproof, wetsuits and buoyancy aids will be provided.

Meeting at the Sheep Shed at Another Place Hotel, the explore the lake by Canoe or Kayak experience will start and finish at hotel's jetty.

The minimum age is 8 years old for this activity.

All children under 18 years need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You will need to bring outdoor clothing, suitable for the conditions on the day.
