Week 2: Learn to Paddle — Build Your Confidence on the Water

Ready to take the next step in your paddling journey? Join us at Whoosh Explore on the beautiful River Stort for Week 2 of our Learn to Paddle course — a friendly, practical 3-hour session designed to help you grow in confidence, develop your skills, and enjoy more independent time on the water.

This course builds on the basics and introduces you to the decision-making and practical techniques that make paddling safe, enjoyable, and rewarding. With support from our experienced instructors, you’ll learn how to choose and use a range of paddling skills, equipment, and craft — including canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards — while developing a better understanding of the conditions and choices that affect your time on the water.

Whether you’d like to refine your technique, improve your river awareness, or feel more confident planning your own paddling adventures, this course is a great progression route towards becoming a more capable and independent paddler. It can be taken as Part 2 of our Learn to Paddle series, or you can book additional sessions across different craft to continue developing at your own pace.

You can choose sessions that work for you — over a series of weeks, evenings, or weekends — making it easy to fit paddling into your schedule while working towards your Paddle UK Award.

Based just a short trip from London, Whoosh Explore offers a welcoming paddling community, a versatile fleet of equipment, and coaches who are passionate about helping people enjoy the river safely while caring for the natural environment. Come and meet like-minded adventurers, build your paddling confidence, and discover where your next journey on the water could take you.

Book your spot today and paddle your way to new adventures.
