🗺️ Welsh Walk & Talk: Penbont Woods & Pen Y Garreg Dam

Description

Join our Ranger and fellow Welsh learner, Marc Harpham, for a guided walk through Pen Y Garreg Dam in the heart of the Elan Valley. This is a wonderful opportunity to practice your Welsh in a relaxed setting while discovering the rich history and natural beauty of the area.

🌿 Along the way, we’ll explore one of our Celtic Rainforests, enjoy stunning views and go inside Pen y Garreg Dam, built between 1895 and 1904.

Ymunwch â’r ceidwad a chyd-ddysgwr, Marc Harpham, am daith gerdded dywysedig o amgylch Argae Pen y Garreg a Choed Penbont ynnghanol Cwm Elan. Dyma gyfle gwych i ymarfer eich Cymraeg mewn awyrgylch hamddenol, wrth ddysgu am hanes cyfoethog a harddwch naturiol yr ardal.

Ar hyd y ffordd, byddwn yn archwilio un o’n Coedwigoedd Glaw Celtaidd, yn mwynhau golygfa fendigedig, ac yn mynd i mewn i'r Argae, a adeiladwyd rhwng 1895 a 1904.

Requirements

To be fit and able enough to walk roughly 2.5km.

Some of the trail will be uneven and steep.

Great walk, we visited 3 of the dams in Elan Valley. We would definitely return hopefully on a clearer day. Incredible engineering that has stood the test of time.
