  • Enjoy a ranger guided coach tour around the Elan valley

    Description

Join us at the Elan Valley as we celebrate our 120th anniversary with a coach tour around the estate to show you the Elan Valley dams, amazing wildlife and stunning scenery we have here. A ranger will join you on the coach and give you fascinating commentary about the history, nature and more, and answer all of your questions!

The tour will take approximately two hours, including a trip through Pen y Garreg dam (optional) and stops for photos. Going through Pen y Garreg involves a few short flights of steps to get to and through the dam.

There are a number of steps to get to the dam, which can be uneven and muddy. The steps inside the dam may be wet and in some areas there are low light levels and narrow corridors. Children should be carefully supervised at all times. It can be dark inside, so you may wish to bring a torch.

Afterwards, you can indulge in a cream tea at our riverside café which is also included in the price.

Book now to avoid disappointment as there are only limited spaces and experience the Elan Valley like never before!

    Requirements

Customers should be able to walk up approx. 20 steps if they would like to go through Pen y Garreg dam.

    What to bring

Suitable footwear to walk through a dam.

    Itinerary

Join the coach at the Visitor Centre at your chosen time and enjoy two hours' of fascinating history and information about the valley. There is an option to go through Pen y Garreg dam too! As well as a cream tea included in the price afterwards.

Good visitor centre, do start your visit to the Elan Valley here, to get the best out of your time on the valley. There's a small charge for the car park but that covers all day parking at all of the other car parks ...

Stopped off at the centre for a spot of food and souvenirs during our bike tour. The views over the dams were truly amazing, would highly recommend a visit!

Lovely place to visit. My wife and I took our 2 dogs on the "Around Caban" Trail. Was around 4 hours long and some of the views were amazing. Not local to the area so needed help in the visitor centre before we got ...
