Colliford Evening Ticket
Colliford Lake is Cornwall’s largest inland water, offering an ideal spot to enjoy the peace and serenity of Bodmin Moor’s rugged countryside landscape – a Cornwall National Landscape. Enjoy breathtaking views of this beautiful area of moorland, which is also the location of a nature reserve and an important site for birdlife.
This Cornish brown trout fishery offers traditional fly fishing for wild and stocked trout. Grown-on fish of over 2lb are caught frequently, with fish up to 5lb caught occasionally. The largest fish recorded is a 9lb 8oz Brown caught in 2018.
Fishing is from the bank only and wading is not advised. Traditional fly patterns such as sedge patterns, soldier palmer, hoppers, and bibios work well but keep an eye out for the big browns chasing fry – this can be explosive sport. Fish the margins and walk the banks to cover as much water as possible.
‘Catch and release' is possible but barbless hooks must be used, otherwise up to 4 fish over 10" may be taken in a day.
