Boat Permit for Siblyback Lake
Siblyback Lake is situated on Bodmin Moor, offering the striking backdrop of a Cornwall National Landscape. An especially atmospheric location, Siblyback embodies different moods as the seasons change: from wild and windy winters to flat calms in the summer, the lake is a special spot in Cornwall.
The fly fishery is regularly stocked with rainbow trout averaging just under 2lbs, with many fish in the 3-6lb bracket.
The lake is home to a large population of resident brown trout to 4lbs, which are catch and release only. A ‘catch and release' ticket is available but barbless hooks must be used. Fly fishing only.
The fish fight hard and quality is superb. Watch out for the fantastic hatch of beetles in May and June, which provide some amazing dry fly action.
Siblyback lends itself to some fantastic boat fishing with great drifts possible. Boats are available for hire, but booking is essential to avoid disappointment. For more information click here. Please note that you will need to attend a boat safety and induction talk before you can use a fishing boat on our waters.
