Stithians Catch and Release Ticket
Stithians Lake is a majestic water; as the largest inland water in West Cornwall, the reservoir is both full of activity and a tranquil retreat, boasting some inspiring views.
One of England's most westerly trout fisheries, Stithians is regularly stocked with rainbow trout up to 6lb and contains a good natural head of brown trout, which come alive in the summer months for catch and release fishing. They fight well and their condition is superb.
Only fly fishing is permitted, from both bank and boat. Please note that you will need to attend a boat safety and induction talk before you can use a fishing boat on our waters.
Large numbers of hawthorn flies guarantee good, dry fly fishing in the first part of the season, while the large number of sticklebacks and rudd allow autumn fry-bashing to produce some exciting sport.
The best flies are: montana, viva, buzzer patterns, cats whisker and invicta.
