The RYA Sea Survival Course is designed to teach you exactly what to do in emergency situations at sea

The 1-day course prepares you with good knowledge of the safety equipment carried on small boats and the techniques needed to survive in emergency situations at sea including:

2. Lifejackets – wearing, checking & servicing
3. Liferafts and the equipment they contain
4. Lifesaving appliances - how they work
5. How to summon help
6. Types and uses of distress flares,
7. Use of PLB's, EPIRB's SART's & VHF Radios
8. Practical liferaft launching/inflation drills
9. In water survival techniques
10. How to enter a liferaft from the water
11. How to right a capsized liferaft
12. Cold water shock/hypothermia
13. Other medical aspects of sea survival
14. Search and rescue techniques
15. Helicopter rescue procedures

A fun and essential course enabling you to experience first hand the problems of entering an uncooperative liferaft and assisting others while fully kitted out in wet weather gear and a lifejacket!
