  • Description

Take your paddleboarding skills to the next level with Outdoor Explore Wales' Paddleboard Safety and Rescue.

Learn essential SUP safety and rescue techniques in a small group (max. 6 people) on the River Taff at Radyr, Cardiff. With our novice-friendly approach, you can learn and develop your skills in a safe environment at your own pace.

If you have your own equipment, this fun and interactive paddleboard lesson costs just £25pp; alternatively, we can provide full kit hire for a small fee of £8 which includes a paddleboard, paddle, leash, buoyancy aid, and waterproof jacket as well as a dry bag if required – we also offer wetsuit hire at just £5 per person.

Any photos that we take on the tour can be shared with you, for free, after the journey.

Please note, due to being a small business, we need at least three participants on this session. While we will do our best to fill each session, if there are only two people booked on we will look at rearranging the session.

After booking we will send you the exact details of the meeting location.

We also offer Private Lessons and Guided tours, please contact us to arrange this for you.

If you have any questions in the meantime, you can reach us directly:

    Requirements

    Participants should be water confident.

If you are bringing your own equipment, you will need a buoyancy aid, which you can hire for £5 if you don't have one.

    What to bring

Bring some footwear (which will get wet) and appropriate clothes for the weather.

It's also a good idea to bring a small bottle of water, especially on a hot day.

    Itinerary

We will spend a lot of time falling off our boards and getting back on! You will learn SUP safety and different self rescue techniques and also how to rescue peers.
