  • Description

Explore the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal with Outdoor Explore Wales, paddling through the longest tunnel on our Canal Tunnel Adventure.

This guided paddleboard tour is a unique way to explore this stunning part of South Wales, beginning in Talybont-on-Usk. The highlight of this 2.5-hour journey is paddling through the longest tunnel on the canal – the 343m Ashford Tunnel.

The trip is perfect for beginners but can also be enjoyed by experienced paddlers alike, in small groups of 6 people maximum, allowing all to enjoy, relax and paddle at a slow pace.

If you have your own equipment, this instructive paddleboard experience costs just £40pp; alternatively, we can provide full kit hire for a small fee of £15 which includes a paddleboard, paddle, leash, buoyancy aid and waterproof jacket as well as a dry bag if required – we also offer wetsuit hire at just £5 per person.

Any photos we take on the tour can be shared with you, for free, after the journey.

Please bring a headtorch if you have one.

Please note, due to being a small business, we need at least three participants on open guided tours. While we will do our best to fill each session, if there are only two people booked on, we will look at rearranging the session.

Once you have booked, we will send you the exact details of the meeting location.

We also offer Private Lessons and Guided tours, please contact us to arrange this for you.

If you have any questions in the meantime, you can reach us directly:
