Stand Up Paddle Board Hire - 2hr Hire

Take your Welsh Water adventure on to the water by hiring one of our stand up paddle boards. Explore the lake from your stand up paddle board and take in all its beauty and the wide variety of wildlife it has to offer.


Your hire of a board will include 1 buoyancy aid and 1 wetsuit. Additional buoyancy aids and wetsuits can be hired from the Activity Centre reception.


When you arrive at Llys y Fran, please head straight to our Activity Centre Reception where our team will check you in and provide you with your equipment.


Stand up paddle boarding is suitable for children over 6 years old, however, under 18's must be accompanied by an adult at all times.


We reserve the right to withdraw access to the water if the conditions are not suitable.


6 to 7 Years Old: Can be on a craft but must be accompanied on the same craft with another paddler aged over 16. A guardian (18+) must be onsite and supervising from either the water or from the bank.


8 to 13 Years Old: Can paddle their own craft with someone over 16 supervising them, but they must also be on the water with a craft. A guardian (18+) must be onsite and supervising either from the water or from the bank.


14 to 17 Years Old: Can paddle their own craft on the water with a guardian (18+) supervising from the water or from the bank.


18+: Can use any craft on the water in line with our T&C’s.



Please be advised dogs are not permitted in or on the lake under any circumstances. Dogs must always remain on a lead when on site.

What to bring

As part of your hire you will be provided with a buoyancy aid and a wetsuit. We recommend you bring with you:


  1. Swimsuit for under your wetsuit
  2. Water shoes (old trainers will do)
  3. Change of clothes
  4. Towel
  5. Sun cream
  6. Bottle of water

Requirements

Before travelling to Llys y Fran, we ask that you follow the current government advice and do not travel if you have any of the following symptoms:


  1. A high temperature: this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature).


  1. A new, continuous cough: this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).


  1. A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste: this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.


To ensure the safety of our customers and staff we ask you to sign a health declaration confirming you are free of symptoms.

Cancellations

Llys-Y-Fran cancellation policy

  1. No refund if the booking is cancelled within 24 hours to the activity start time.
  2. Full refund credit voucher issued 24 - 48 hours prior to the activity start time.
  3. Full refund to credit card used 48+ hours prior to the activity start time.
  4. If the conditions on the day aren’t ideal but the activity is still taking place; the customer may choose to reschedule or a credit voucher will be issued if he/she/they feels it is unsuitable.
  5. If we cancel any bookings for any reason, we will issue a full refund either to the credit card used or to a credit voucher; whichever the organiser would prefer.
  6. If cancellation occurs due to a medical emergency including a positive covid test, we will refund to a credit voucher.
