  • Description

Please Note: Third Party Public Liability Insurance is required by all self launches. This is available through National Governing Bodies including Canoe Wales and the Royal Yachting Association. Upon arrival, you will be required to provide proof of your Third Party Public Liability Insurance. Failure to do this will result in you not being allowed on the water.

Launch your own paddle craft and take your adventure on to the water. Explore the Llys Y Fran Lake and see its spectacular scenery and wildlife from a different perspective. After a safety briefing and competency test you can set off on your journey.

Pricing is based on £6 per craft, not per adult. The number of persons that can take part on a craft is dependent on the craft capacity. For example, a two person kayak means only two people can take part in the activity or a paddle board which is for one person only.

Safety is our number one priority. In the event of poor weather conditions, for example; strong winds or thunder and lightning, we reserve the right to restrict water access to particular user groups, restrict the area available for activities, or close the lake. We will endeavour to give advance notice whenever possible, however, some decisions need to be made at short notice.

In the case where the lake is needed to be closed, we will endeavour to notify all customers to offer the opportunity to reschedule their session or receive a refund. We will also ensure the message is shared on the Llys Y Fran website and social media pages.

Self launch permitted is limited to paddle boards, kayaks and canoes.

Upon arrival to Llys Y Fran you will need to sign in at our Activity Centre Reception. Please ensure all consent forms have been signed before your arrival.

Once you have signed in, a member of our staff will inspect all your equipment to ensure it is safe. and you will be required to wash down prior to entering the water.
