  • Description

The ghosts and ghouls are back at Pen y Garreg Dam and have spooked some of the local wildlife! Are you brave enough to help us find the creatures hiding in the woodland and then venture inside a haunted Pen Y Garreg dam?

As you walk through the woodland to the dam, keep an eye out for the creepy bugs and beasties that are hiding there. There are eight creatures to find.

When you see them, write down the name of the creature and collect your reward from the cauldrons inside the dam, but only if you can find all eight creatures, so be brave and keep your eyes open!

Walk though Pen Y Garreg dam to the central tower where you can collect a Halloween treat, then continue your journey through the dam, down through the woodlands and back to your car.

Costumes are optional but also encouraged!

    ***

Make sure you download the spooky search sheet before you arrive and bring a pen with you.

Park at Penbont car park and follow the spooky trail through the woodland and up the steps to the dam entrance. The walk from the car park will take between 10-20 minutes; please factor this into your travel to the dam to ensure that you arrive within your chosen time as we are unable to accept late-comers.

If you feel that the access through the woodland to the dam is not suitable for yourself/a member of your party, please speak to a member of staff before the event. They will be able to direct you if appropriate to a small space at the top of the dam that allows easier access.

Due to Covid-19 social distancing regulations, numbers inside the dam have to be restricted; queuing may be expected so please be patient with us. You may be asked to wait before entering the dam and we may need to limit your time inside the structure. Hand sanitiser will be available at the entrance to the dam.

Please be aware that there are steps inside the dam which may be wet and in some areas there are low light levels and narrow corridors. Torches are recommended. Children should be carefully supervised at all times. Dogs are welcome on short leads.

Entry is £5 for adults and £1.50 for those aged 18 and under with half of all proceeds going to our chosen charity WaterAid. Tickets must be bought in advance; there will be no option to buy tickets on the door. Please print or download your confirmation/ticket and spooky search beforehand as there is no signal at the dam and you will be required to show evidence of booking.

Refunds: there will be no refunds issued to bookings made on the day. If you need to rearrange your booking to another time/date due to unforeseen circumstances then this may be possible, depending on availability.

Car Park Grid Reference: SN 914 673
