  • Description

Embark on Southampton Boat Show's First Ever Paddle Nautic Event and be part of something very special! This wave will start at 12.15 from Woodmill Outdoor Activities Centre, home of theSUPco.com, onto the upper reaches of the River Itchen. The River Itchen meanders through the heart of Southampton and will provide the backdrop to this 10k challenge for 150 paddleboarders who will finish at the Southampton Boat Show ground in Mayflower Park.

This event is only for inflatable paddleboards. This is the leisure board wave class for boards.

This is a point to point challenge which will see participants –

    1. Drop their equipment (ie: inflatable paddleboard and paddle) at drop off area at Woodmill Outdoor Centre from 07.45 am.
    2. Participants will then make their own way to the Southampton Boat Show ground, making use of parking in West Quay and the surrounding area.
    3. Once parked, participants will meet at Harbour Parade Car Park to board a dedicated bus that will return then to Woodmill Outdoor Centre and their equipment (x2 shuttle busses at 10am and 10.15am)
    4. Participants will then have event briefing at Woodmill Outdoor Activities Centre.
    5. Participants will launch their paddleboard from the Woodmill Outdoor Activities Centre pontoon or Woodmill Gravel Beach based on their start time / classification.
    6. Participants will then complete the 10k course comprising the River Itchen, rounding Southampton Dock Head, finishing at the Southampton Boat Show, Mayflower park.
    7. The finish line will be between the old Pier facing the SBS pontoons and a buoy / finish boat set directly to the West of the pontoon.
    8. Participants will then make their way to the ‘on water activities zone’ of SBS where they can muster before exiting via the concrete slipway adjacent to the Pontoon Bridgend (next to formerly the GJW stand).
