  • Description

A tour of the famous Blackpool Illuminations aboard an iconic double-decker Balloon Tram. Your seat will be on the Lower Deck. The tour lasts approximately an hour. The tour time shown is the start and end of boarding.

Boarding at Pleasure Beach Heritage Tram Stop, the tram heads north along the Promenade past the thousands of twinkling lights, all three piers and The Tower along the Golden Mile. It then continues along the North Shore promenade to the illuminated and animated tableaux between Cabin and Bispham.

Going forward to Little Bispham it then turns south and travels all the way back to the Pleasure Beach where you first boarded. If were on the sea-side on the way north, you will be on the road-side on the return and so miss nothing of the spectacle.

This is not a hop-on-hop-off tour. If you don't wish to stay with us to the end of the tour at Pleasure Beach, you can leave us at Bispham, Cabin or North Pier & Tower Heritage stops. If you leave, that is then the end of your tour. You will not be able to continue your tour on a later tram.

    Requirements

Coronavirus/Covid-19: If you have any symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has and you are therefore self-isolating, please do not come for your tour. Please contact us for a refund.

Accessibility: Heritage trams have restricted accessibility due to their historic age and design.

There is a 12 to 16 inch (30 to 40cm) step to climb onto the tram and some trams have a similar step once on board, Whilst our conductors will help you board they cannot provide direct physical assistance.

We can accommodate a folded wheelchair.

    What to bring

Many of our heritage trams have no heating due to their age and vintage design so please wear appropriate clothing if the weather is going to be chilly.

Please bring your ticket either on paper or on your phone.

Please bring your own face covering which must to be worn on board as required by law unless you are exempt.

    Itinerary

Leaving Pleasure Beach Tram stop we head north on the Prom, past all three Piers, The Tower and all through the illuminations to the northern end. We then turn round and go all the way back again to return you to Pleasure Beach around 1 hour later.
