Stage 4 Sailing Week

Please note that as RYA Stage 4 courses are taught in double-handed sailing dinghys. The RYA has realised guidance on the 6th of August confirming that Stage 4 courses and above can be taught to those in different households and seperate bubbles.

You can still get afloat and practicing, just book our improver group instead.

Join us at SWAC for a week of fun and exciting learn to sail course for children. SWAC is known for our emphasis on having fun while learning new skills, in the heart of Southampton.

What is it?

Active Sail courses are designed around the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme; Stage Four is the last course before the Youth Sailing Scheme catches up with the Adult National Sailing Scheme. The course is designed to develop communication and crew work in the double handed dinghies used on the Advanced Sailing Modules. Upon completion of Stage Four children can sail effectively as helm or crew and problem solve common issues afloat.

We teach at a ratio of 6:1 meaning children are well supervised and receive specific feedback to make sure they enjoy mastering the sport. Children can expect to sail a boat on their own, or with a friend.
