Family Paddling

Paddling session for a family group.

We are currently offering family paddling sessions where you are able to paddle as a family unit in relative isolation on the River Stort, sessions are looking to take place at 15 minute intervals on the River. We recommend that you bring along a sanitising product to wipe over equipment. We have buoyancy aids available which we are using on a once a week rotation. Please add your requirements for bouyancy aids to your booking . The area we are paddling on is rural with a footpath/ tow path alongside, The location we operate in is fairly remote from other activities and people.

We have a maximum of 10 boats for family paddling session at this time.

We will ask you to be confident and self sufficient when paddling as we are unable to offer our normal levels of instruction and support to complete beginners at this time. Parents or a designated guardian will be required to be responsible at all times children in their care attending this activity.

What to bring

Please bring a change of clothing as well as suitable footwear for paddling in.

Parents are responsible at all times for children under the age of 16 participating in this activity

The paddling session starts with a short downstream paddle to Stansted Abbotts then back to our base. There then is an opportunity to make any adjustments to equipment or boats before undertaking a longer paddle trip up to Rye house and back.

On this longer paddling section we expect paddlers to be able to be confident to undertake the paddle independently.
