2022 Intermediate skills boost weekend!

Early season skills booster!!

Shakedown skills to take you into the next season. Aimed at paddlers who have gained skills on flat water and light winds and are looking to develop and consolidate skills and confidence in bigger waves and stronger winds.

Coaching topics:

  1. Improving strokes
  2. Rougher water paddling
  3. Practising rescues
  4. Paddling along a challenging coastline

What to bring

All personal kayaking equipment. A Drysuit is highly recommended. Read the Kit List

Requirements

Aimed at Strong beginners, experienced group paddlers and intermediate paddlers. An existing level of sea kayaking skills at strong beginner to intermediate level Guide to skill levels to help you decide if this is right for you.

Itinerary

A typical day:

Meet 0830am at kayak storage location (or later if you have your own kayaks )

Chat about the aims for the day

Sort kit and kayaks

On the water activities

Lunch usually on a beach

Finishing by 4pm (these are approximate)

Cancellations

Flexible and reasonable

  1. Full refund minus £20 admin fee if the booking is under or equal to £200 (not including hire fees) and cancelled at least a full 7 days prior to the activity start time.
  2. Full refund minus £20 admin fee if the booking is over £200 (not including hire fees) and cancelled at least a full 28 days prior to the activity start time.
  3. If the conditions on the day aren’t ideal but the activity still takes place, the customer will not be eligible for a refund.

Where we'll meet

The meeting location is decided on the day.

The location is usually chosen a couple of days before with weather and tides in mind, usually Edinburgh coastlines, sometimes inland lochs/canals, North Berwick, East Lothian, Firth of Forth, the Forth Bridges.
