Kids just love this week !

    Easter Camp dates: 2nd - 5th April

    Times: 10am - 1pm

Our kayak camps are all about FUN with a little bit of sneaky teaching thrown in along the way.

Our aim for every Kayak Camper:

    1. Learn new skills
    2. Make a new friend
    3. Grow in self confidence
    4. Experience being part of a river adventure with our end of camp river trip.
    5. Learn the basics of how to help themselves while in the water
    6. Learn how to rescue a friend.
    7. Learn how to use and correctly adjust safety equipment, should they have their own one day.
    8. Gain knowledge and respect for the river and all the beautiful flora and fauna that live in it.
    9. Learn the principles of Leave No Trace

    No experience needed

    Camps run from 10am - 1pm, Tuesday - Friday.

Wetsuit including all safety equipment is provided.

All our staff are fully qualified Canoeing Ireland Kayak Instructors, are Garda Vetted and have attended a relevant Safeguarding Course.

Suitable for children aged 8 - 16 years old.

Kayak Camps are weather dependent. If, for safety reasons we need to cancel a day we will give as much notice as is reasonably possible.

    Requirements

Kayakers will wear a Buoyancy Aid (life jacket) at all times while in the water. To ensure that your child has a positive experience, they should be comfortable in and around water.

    What to bring
    1. Wetsuit or something to wear under the wetsuit, ie swimming togs or shorts and T- shirt
    2. towel
    3. old runners that will get wet
    4. Hat and large jacket to wear over kayak equipment at break time
    5. snacks and a warm drink for break time
    6. any relevant medication, eg inhalers etc…
    7. hand sanitiser
    Itinerary

On arrival Kayakers will be given an introduction to all of the safety equipment.

Each camp day starts with some land based ice-breakers and warm-up games, we then head out on the water for an hour of lessons and games.

After a quick mid morning snack, feeling refuelled we are back out on the water for another hour of water activities and challenges.

At the end of each day we allow Kayak Campers 10 minutes of free time to have a swim and a splash with their new friends. All that's left to do then is tidy up & return the safety equipment before heading home.
