Intro To Open Water Swimming


This one-off session is perfect for swimmers who want to transition from the pool to the open water. This session is suitable for a wide range of swimmers from those who swim recreationally up to those who regularly compete. This session covers the essential skills you need to do that safely e.g. acclimatisation, keeping yourself safe in open water, putting on a wetsuit, and key open water skills

What to bring

  1. Wetsuit (hire included in price of session, or bring your own)
  2. Brightly coloured swim hat
  3. Goggles
  4. Towel
  5. Drink bottle e.g. water
  6. Warm clothes for afterwards (hat, gloves, warm layers)


  1. Comfortable swimming at least 200m on your front out of your depth


  1. If you have hired a wetsuit, please turn up 10 - 15 minutes before your session start time to allow time to get changed. 
  2. If you haven't hired a wetsuit, please turn up ‘swim-ready’, 5 minutes before your session. 
  3. Sign in at reception.
  4. Meet your coach by the pontoon for the safety briefing and overview of the session. There will be a dry land element to start with, so please be swim ready with warm clothes/Dry robe over your wetsuit

Please see individual sessions cancellation policy but the standard policy is:

We will cancel and refund your spot if you have requested a refund AND emailed the centre 5 full days prior to the course or session start date. Anyone who fails to not notify the centre via email only (no social media) will not receive a refund.
