Guided Sharp Edge - Blencathra

Lake District Mountaineering offers a private guiding service for scrambling & mountaineering all over the national park. For this service we engage local, active and experienced Mountaineering Instructors to support you on your journey and offer a high quality experience for LDM customers.

These privates days work best for small groups and individuals that are looking for a more focussed experience towards achieving a technical mountain day or looking to complete a specific scramble.

This day is focussed on Blencathra - Hall's Fell Ridge & Sharp Edge

Starting from Threlkeld we make our way to the base of Hall's Fell Ridge. This is a great ridge and gets us moving across scrambling terrain.

The ridge tops out directly on the summit.

From here, we descend down to Scales Tarn and onto Sharp Edge. This is the main event.

We make our descent via Doddick Fell.

Scrambling is a fantastic way to explore the mountains, include a scramble as part of your mountain journey to create an exciting and memorable day in the hills.

All scrambles on this day are grade 1.

The price of this day is inclusive of:

  1. A qualified Mountaineering Instructor affiliated with AMI
  2. Local & intimate knowledge of the venues
  3. Technical equipment
  4. Professional coaching & instruction
  5. Small ratios and focussed guiding
