  • Description

    If you are looking to progress into multi pitch venues then this course is designed to teach you all the appropriate skills needed - looking at rope organisation, stance management and safe descent this is an all inclusive course with lots of climbing.

    Course Outline

    Day 1:

    You will be guided on a multi pitch climb to begin with, and here we will demonstrate the following:

    1. Runner placement and management
    2. Rope work (half vs single ropes)
    3. Belay stances and management
    4. Reducing twists at belays
    5. Protecting a second (traverse)
    6. Descent and personal abseiling ​

    Day 2:

    1. Complete a multi pitch climb
    2. Climb routes 'in series' or independently
    3. Build your own belays
    4. Belay a second
    5. Manage your own stances
    6. Gain independence
    7. Discuss problem solving where appropriate


    This course is non-residential

    Requirements

    For those who are leading single pitch climbs or looking to develop their leading skills - we will work on runner placement and stance organisation to improve your rope work
