Description
As a hillwalker, this course will allow you to experience scrambling on grade 1 ground and progress through to roped scrambles at grade 2. We will be looking at the fundamentals of scrambling movement and looking to build confidence to move over rocky steps, loose ground and steep scree.
Scrambling is the grey area of uncertainty between walking and climbing. Scrambling is fluid and dynamic and requires good judgement but can be thoroughly rewarding due to the adventurous terrain it allows you to access.
On day 2 we will look into safe guarding technical sections of scrambles and introduce scrambling rope work over technical ground, in ascent and descent.
This course requires no scrambling experience and is an introduction to mountaineering.
