    This course is designed to introduce you to the world of traditional climbing in the UK - we will use the crags in the Lake District to climb, in order to show you how rock climbing works and introduce this wonderful sport. 

    On this day you will learn:

    1. How to correctly fit your climbing harness
    2. Tying in and using a figure of 8 knot
    3. How to belay and lower a climber 
    4. Movement skills 
    5. Climbing gear: nuts, cams and hexes
    6. Gear placement and removal in the rock

    Technical skills covered on this course include:

    1. Removing climbing gear whilst climbing
    2. Seconding climbs and learning the systems
    3. Learning climbing calls 
    4. Tying clove hitches
    5. Further movement coaching
    6. Safe descent

    The price of this course is inclusive of:
