    Book our guided service for Helvellyn

    Here at LDM, we know the mountain intimately - we guide the mountain in summer and winter. LDM have safely ran courses, guided fellow walkers and scrambled over Striding Edge many time and have intimate knowledge of the mountain and its surrounding area. 

    Our guides are knowledgeable, safe and experienced on the mountain and know the terrain well so you're in good hands for your trip.

    The starting locatin for this walk is in Glenridding.

    The route head up Mire's Beck and onto Birkhouse Moor. From here we will the path into the infamous Hole in the Wall and the beginning of Striding Edge. 

    You will be guided over the ridge, with the instructor on hand to route find, coach your movement and safgaurd any tricky sections on route, this will take you onto teh summit. 

    From here, it is down via Swirral Edge and an optional extra on the walk is Catstyecam, another summit before we descend via Greenside Mines. 

    This service is offered to all, whether you wish to climb:

    • On a day of your holiday

    • In the Winter

    • In the dark for sunrise

    • Or be on the top for sunset

    • And even if you need a guide for this section of the three peaks challenge...

    LDM is here to make it happen.

    A guided walking day is 5+ hours long. We meet for 9:00am and should arrive back at the cars for 3:00pm - this is a six hour day meaning we can reach the high fells and provide a full itinerary for the day.

    Half day walks are available on request.
