  • Description

Lake District Mountaineering offers a private guiding service for rock climbing all over the national park. For this service we engage local, active and experienced Mountaineering Instructors to support you on your journey and offer a high quality experience for LDM customers.

These privates days work best for small groups and individuals that are looking for a more focussed experience towards achieving a climbing goal or wanting to climb specific routes.

Our private guided days allow us to focus on you and your climbing partner, this allows for tailored instruction and coaching to take place.

On enquiry we will discuss your objectives and aspirations as well as your experience levels, this will allow for us to create a bespoke programme for you.

This experience is designed to get you onto multi pitch climbs and experience longer routes.

The day can be a totally guided experience and introduce you to the world of multi-pitch climbing, or we can use the time for learning and teaching whilst on the routes.

Here we can look at any of the following during the climb.

    1. Runner placement and management
    2. Rope work (half vs single ropes)
    3. Belay stances and management
    4. Reducing twists at belays
    5. Protecting a second (traverse)
    6. Descent and personal abseiling

We will match the climbs and venues to your aspirations and expectations - venues we use include:

    1. Raven Crag (Langdale)
    2. Black Crag (Borrowdale)
    3. Gimmer Crag
    4. Dow Crag
    5. Castle Rock
    6. Grey Crags
    7. Pavey Ark

    And more!

There is a lifetimes worth of climbing just in the Lakes.

Get in touch if you have a climb in mind or need some guidance towards choosing a route for you!

The price of this day is inclusive of:
