Beat the hill! Timed runs for all...

On Sunday, 23 May we are hosting our very first National Slalom Awards (NSA) event.

This is part of a new initiative from Snowsport Wales which allows all capable participants to come along and pit themselves against the clock.

  1. For this first event we will be using a predetermined set course and will use age handicapped standard times to give skiers and indication of where they stand on the day.
  2. Skiers, no matter how young or old, can then assess their improvement from 'Polar Bear' to 'Platinum' standard.

So if you can get yourself to the top of the slope (using the lift unaided), and descend in control of speed and direction then you can come a long and take part in this event (Some previous experience of skiing round gates preferred).

As always at our sessions, coaches will be present and available to give tips, advice encouragement and appropriate feedback where needed.

NB. You will need to be a member to attend this event though it is possible to attend as a temporary member (please see the information below).

IMPORTANT: Please follow the link below to our COVID screening form. You will need to complete this in the 24 hours before your session. If we have not received a complete form you will not be able to attend the session.

Please follow Centre guidelines in relation to COVID19 security. Please observe social distancing precautions at all times when attending this session in particular whilst waiting in the lift queue and whilst waiting at the top of the slope.

Gloves must be worn at all times. You must not remove your gloves whilst on the lift and you must not touch your face with your hands whilst wearing your gloves.

If you are not a member of the NWSC then you can still attend, but there is a £5 surcharge to cover our insurances, and you obviously would not get the reduced NWSC preferential rate for the slope use either.

Please select the ‘NWSC temporary membership’ when booking.

You can also pay to join the club via the system here, annual membership (September to September) is £20 for the first family of household member, and then £7.50 for each subsequent household member.

Please follow the link to the online membership form in the email you will receive confirming your booking, or here

What to bring

You can bring your own ski gear or you can use the hire equipment from the Llandudno, included in the price, should you prefer.

You must bring (your own) gloves, and wet weather gear is advised in case of rain.

Bare in mind that there are also sprinklers on the slope to consider.

Helmets are essential for this session.

Skiers must be able to control speed and direction from the top of the slope, turn, stop, and use the lift unaided.

Parents of any children under the age of 16 are expected to remain at the centre, within sight of the slope, in case they are required.

The supervising coach will reserve the right to ask participants to leave the slope should their ability not be up to the required standard, and / or potentially be at imminent risk of harming themselves or others.

This is a specific event where participants will be taking part in timed runs through a set course, and receiving coaching throughout.
