Safeguarding and Protecting Children Online Classroom Training

This Online Classroom delivered by UK Coaching will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career.

This interactive online classroom, delivered via Webex, will help recognise poor practice and the red flags of abuse, while also prompting a review of your coaching practice to ensure that you provide a positive and enriching experience for all children.

The course has been awarded 3 CPD points by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).

It is a required training for anyone wishing to be licenced as a coach or instructor and for Club Welfare Officers.

The training should be updated or renewed every 3 years.

The online course is also available to Snowsport Cymru Wales members at a subsidised rate of £15 per person if in a role as Club Welfare Officer or as a Coach, instructor or official. Contact admin@snowsportwales.net to book your reduced cost place.

You will need the following equipment:

1. Headset or a device with speakers
2. Device with a microphone
3. Ability to connect directly into your router (wifi access may drop out)

Participants must be 18 years or older when taking the course.

You will learn:

1. To identify and recognise good coaching practice and the implications for your coaching
2. To explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise their potential impact on your response
3. To recognise and respond to possible signs of child abuse
4. To take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise.
