Paddleboard Maidenhead

My brother said paddleboarding seems abit pointless. My response; if you want great tuition (thx Phil :)), a beautiful stretch of the Thames (and stunning views of Clivedon from the water), if you want to rest your busy mind and stretch your body in a way that is effective without feeling like a workout; Paddleboard Maidenhead may be just the answer you are looking for. My 1:1 with Phil achieved all this and more. Great conversation, a dollop of mindfulness, a great 4-5K paddle and superb scenery whilst flexing my muscles, improving my posture and testing my balance. Would love to do more.

I enjoyed this paddle on a beautiful stretch of the Thames led by Phil.  Phil was a great leader and gave me some useful tips.  Rest of the group were really friendly.  Perfect way to spend a Saturday morning.  I will definitely be going out again and would love to try the SUP yoga at some point too.

Took the ‘Beginners course’ with Tara last Sunday with my son and grandson. We had a great time. My son and grandson can paddle but I had never been able to stand on a Paddleboard in the water despite having what I thought was good balance. I’ve always fallen in when trying to stand up. However this day was different! Tara broke me in gently letting me kneel for a while then when the time was right gently coaxed me to stand up. With the techniques I’d been given I managed to get up and stay up, for a while 😆 - an advancing boat coming in the opposite direction caused me to lose my balance in anticipation of the wake. I went in several times during the two hour session and learned to get back on without help.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Tara who is a fountain of knowledge and I would thoroughly recommend having a go if you are considering learning to paddle.
