River Tweed (Stobo - Yair) - Overnight

Experience one of the most scenic river journeys in Scotland with this two-day guided kayaking expedition on the River Tweed with Driftwood Adventure. Designed for experienced paddlers, this open group adventure combines river kayaking, wild camping, and exploration of the Scottish Borders.

Over two days you’ll paddle a beautiful stretch of the River Tweed, travelling Stobo - Innerleithen - Yair, stopping to camp overnight beside the river. With all kayaking and camping equipment provided, this trip is perfect for those looking for a true overnight kayaking adventure in Scotland without the hassle of organising logistics.

Experience Required:

This is an experienced paddlers only trip. Participants must have recent kayaking experience or have completed at least two previous sessions with Driftwood Adventure and been assessed as competent.

Participants will be required to complete a booking questionnaire. If this is not submitted at least 1 week before the trip, the booking will be cancelled and a refund issued.

Getting Home:

We recommend participants who travel together in a group to bring two cars and park one at Stobo and one at the end point in Yair (both offer free car parking).

Alternatively please get in touch to see whether we have space to shuttle back to the start point.

This group session is for people with experience within the last 5 years and are over the age of 12.

Paddlers must ensure they have stamina for 2 full days of kayaking.

Please fill out the questionnaire after booking, expanding on your previous experience.

This trip requires at least 4 participants to run. If this is not met, the trip will be rescheduled or cancelled and a full refund provided.

All necessary equipment is provided. However we recommend bringing along the following:

1. Towel
2. Shoes to get wet
3. Shoes to stay dry
4. Snacks and drinks
5. Spare dry clothing
6. On the go breakfast
7. Money for evening dinner
8. Any medication if required
9. Compact camping mattress
10. We recommend wearing lightweight sports clothing for underneath the supplied wetsuit
