  • Description

Join us onboard Pathfinder for some mackerel fishing. With a large, wide deck Pathfinder is the perfect fishing platform. Our experienced crew will take you out to the best spots in the Firth of Forth, where you can lower your line and reel straight into shoals of mackerel. We guarantee no snagged lines, as well as no pesky seals stealing your catch! You'll have around 2 hours to enjoy the experience and stunning scenery while catching fish. Don't have your own fishing kit, worry not you can hire a rod from us. Please note maximum permissible rod length is 7ft, beach casting rods are too long and are not compatible with boat fishing.

Please come prepared to handle and dispatch your catch. You must be comfortable handling live fish.

    1. Regretfully we cannot accept any children under 16.
    2. We can take a limited number of non fishing passengers at a cost of £15. If you would like to bring a friend who would rather watch then please message us for booking. This is perfect for that supportive partner or friend!!
    3. Any unwanted fish can be fed to the local harbour seal. This is a great experience but is subject to the seals attendance which cannot be guaranteed.

    Requirements
    1. Bring your fishing kit.
    2. Bring a bag or tub to take your catch home.
    3. Bring a towel to wash/wipe your hands it can get messy out there.
    4. Tea and coffee are provided but feel free to bring a beer or two
    5. Regretfully we cannot accept those under 16 years of age due to conditions set by our landlords
    6. Maximum rod length 7ft due to space on the boat

    What to bring

It is much colder out on the water than it is on land. We therefore suggest that you wear warm clothes.

Mackerel fishing can be messy business so please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

You should arrive with all your fishing kit and a bag or tub to take your catch home in.

    Itinerary

We will head out to the fishing grounds and let the boat drift while the rods are in the water. We will relocate depending on the rate of drift and the number of bites
