- For Teens (14-17 Years Old): Spread your wings as you navigate the waters solo, with a parent or guardian cheering you on from the shore!

While exploring by paddle board, kayak, or canoe, you have the flexibility to self-launch and navigate at your own pace! Just keep in mind, Third Party Public Liability Insurance is required for all self-launches. But don't worry, acquiring insurance is easy through reputable organizations like Canoe Wales and the Royal Yachting Association!

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all visitors! Our visitor centre is fully accessible, featuring a layout that's designed for ease of movement, including plenty of space for wheelchair users.
While many of our walks offer natural beauty and are suitable for various mobility needs, please note that some paths consist of gravel and uneven terrain, which may present challenges for wheelchair access. Additionally, certain trails include some steep inclines, adding to the adventure!
We also offer conveniently located disability access parking bays right by the visitor centre, making it easy for you to start your journey with us.

Attention all adventurers! Before you dive into the excitement of self-launching, please be aware that Third Party Public Liability Insurance is mandatory. This crucial protection is available through National Governing Bodies, including Canoe Wales and the Royal Yachting Association. Make sure to bring proof of your insurance with you. Failure to do so will prevent you from accessing the water. Don’t miss out on your adventure; ensure you’re covered!
Upon your arrival, our dedicated team will conduct a safety inspection of your equipment to guarantee a worry-free experience. Here’s what we’ll be checking:
For Paddle Boards:
- Properly inflated to the recommended PSI.
- No visible damages, scrapes, or gauges.
- No signs of delamination.
- Suitability for your level of expertise.
For Kayaks/Canoes:
- If inflated, must feature cutting-edge drop stitching technology.
- Properly inflated to the recommended PSI.
- Free from visible damages, scrapes, or gauges.
- Appropriateness for your skill level.
🛟 Essential Gear:
Ensure you have an appropriate paddle and personal protective gear!
We highly recommend:
- For Adults: 50 PFD Level Certified Buoyancy Aid.
- For Juniors: 70 PFD Level Certified Buoyancy Aid.
Always check for damages! Rips, tears, or frayed stitching are a no-go!
If your equipment does not meet our safety standards, don’t worry, we’ll offer you the option to hire our top-notch equipment to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

We have changing facilities with warm showers and toilets. Lockers are available with a refundable £1.00.
We recommend bringing the following items with you:
- Swimsuit for under your wetsuit.
- Change of clothes.
- Towel.
- Sun cream.
- Bottle of water.
- Closed toe footwear.
Please Note: Closed toe shoes are compulsory for water activities and must be worn at all times. Crocs and sliders are not deemed suitable.
