Come and Try Taster Sessions

Ever fancied trying kayaking or canoeing? Come and give it a try at our taster session. For beginners and those new to the sport, this session offers an introduction to the basics of paddling in a fun, safe and supportive environment with tuition from our club coaches.
What's in Store?
Our Taster Sessions are designed for beginners, those returning to paddling after a break or anyone looking to try something new. The 2 hours session includes a pre-paddle briefing, time out on the water learning basic paddling skills and a post paddle de-brief. All equipment including kayaks or canoes, paddles, buoyancy aids and helmets are provided.
Requirements
- Aged 18 or over
- Ability to swim 25m
- Being comfortable with putting head under water
What to bring?
- Swimsuit
- T-shirt or rash vest
- Shorts or leggings
- Old trainers, wetsuit boots or water shoes
- Wetsuit (optional)
- Towel
- Change of clothes for after
Why paddle with us?
Baldock and District Canoe Club has been introducing people to paddling since 1982. Our club coaches have years of experience in introducing people to kayaking in a fun, safe environment. We run weekly pool sessions, canoe polo sessions, local river paddles, weekends away, whitewater and kayak surf trips alongside social events. If you'd like to learn to paddle, perfect that roll or are looking for a local group to paddle with please get in touch.
