Descrição

The Lake is generously stocked for anglers with bank and boat fishing available for rainbow and brown trout. The Lake allows for a variety of approaches to Trout Fishing ranging from easy access worm fishing along the East Bank or more challenging fly fishing where anglers can stalk trout using a variety of lures, nymphs and dry fly. NO SPINNING IS PERMITTED!


In addition to rainbow trout and a small head of wild brown trout the reservoir is home to large numbers of coarse fish which include bream, roach, dace, eels and pike. The reservoir is well known for its large pike.


Please note:

Children under 16 years old can fish for free, as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult for Bank fishing - Trout.

  1. Age 12 and under: Licence not required.
  2. Age 13 to 16: Licence required but free of charge.
  3. Age 17 and over: Standard licence fees apply.
  4. Age 66 and over / Disabled: Concessionary rates available

Fly Fishing Terms and Conditions

Environmental agency fishing license required.

· Anglers must stay out of prohibited fishing areas as described by the ranger during briefing.

· All anglers must check in with a member of the ranger/water sports team before fishing.

· Fly fishing for trout only.

· Safety advice: appropriate head and eye wear to worn.

· No wading above waist height.

· Please do not exceed your fishing ticket limit, checks by the ranger team will be undertaken. When fishing catch and release, please use barbless or crushed barb hooks.
