We have a progressive program in different locations in different locations where we start with some foundation technique and drills and progresses to possibly some fitness paddling depending on group. We also do SUPFit and Social sessions also at Ellerton lake which are great option to just get out and paddle with little hassle and meet other paddlers. If you fancy raising the heart rate and pushing yourself we have Northern Sup Race Club Training sessions which include sprints, technical races, and 3 km or 5 km time trails. Areas of training that we will cover include equipment, race formats, efficient paddling, race turns, board control and handling, mass starts, and drafting so look out for them. On some weeks we venture onto local slow moving rivers or canals to do some longer-distance paddles between 5 -10km on weekday evening.
This is a great way to improve SUP fitness or cross-train for other sports. Most of all we are about encouraging each other with inclusive fun sessions aimed at promoting getting out in our blue spaces also setting some personal SUP goals in a supportive environment.
The central component of paddle boarding is simply to have fun. Most of the people who attend training and fitness sessions enjoy being able to spend a day with people who are just as excited about SUP as they are!
And we sometimes manage a social afterwards 🍹
Ready, Set, Paddle! :)
