Description

The SUP Sheltered Water Award is designed to develop your understanding of how to plan and paddle a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) in Sheltered Water, using appropriate abilities and decision making skills to travel safely on your pre-determined route.

Your SUP Sheltered Water Award will give you the ability to organise and carry out an enjoyable and safe trip on the water up to 200 metres from shore, up to force 3 in winds. You will be confident in considering how far you can safely travel from the shore, whilst identifying safe exit points, expanding your knowledge of rescue techniques and looking at the external and environmental factors which may affect our journey. You will create proficient skills to anticipate and adapt to problems we may encounter to enable us to have a safe and enjoyable day out stand up paddleboarding.

What to bring

Your normal paddling gear
Suitable clothes for weather conditions.
Change of clothes
Towel
Your regular paddling kit
Money for an after paddle coffee, slice of cake or even an Ice cream.

Requirements

Minimum age 15 years old.

All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult on the activity

If you are using your own board please arrive in enough time to inflate

Itinerary

During the 2 days we will be looking at:

Location and Weather
Planning a paddle
Equipment and clothing
safety and rescue
Body and positioning on the board
all-round paddle skills
working as part of a group

Our Location for Day 1 will be on the River Hamble from The Paddle Centre

Our Location for Day 2 - TBC

Cancellations

Cancellation & Damage

Should you decide to cancel your session -

Full Refund if cancelled 14 days prior to booking start.
50% refund if cancelled within 14 days of booking start.
Charged in full if cancelled within 48 hrs of booking start.

Damage & Breakages

Breakage of equipment through negligence of the hirer, accidental or otherwise, that cannot be attributed to wear and tear will be charged for.
The charge will be for either repair where possible or replacement.
If the value of the repair or replacement is less than the cost of our insurance excess of £350, then this is the value that will be charged to the hirer.
The maximum repair or replacement charge is £350 in order to meet the excess charge made by our insurer.
