2:5 hour Intro SUP YOGA session

Intro to SUP and SUP Yoga

Combine your introduction to Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) 1.5hrs with an introduction to SUP Yoga 1 hr. Master standing and balance on water with our SUP IntroductionA certain level of flexibility and ability to get up to standing from kneeling is required for learning to paddleboard.

Then get ready to practice downward dog and sun salutations on your SUP with Yoga instructor Caroline. SUP Yoga is a popular yoga-fitness fusion involving practicing a yoga routine on paddleboards while floating on water. At the end there is a chance to practice some SUP skills and harder Yoga poses, Warning....this is going to be fun! And you might get wet but the more you try the more fun you will have 😊

Inclusive and fun day with no experience necessary (You will need to be able to swim and be confident in the water)


Itinerary

Example below AM session (PM session starts at 13:00)

but can be bespoke to the group and weather conditions.


10:00 am - 11:30 am intro to SUP skills, you should all be standing and mastered some basic skills and possibly some more technical skills by the end, Finish with some refreshments.

11:30 am - 12:30 pm Guided Yoga session on Boards

12:30 pm - 13:00 ish Free time to practice/have fun on boards, Instructor available on the water for some more tips and coaching.

All kit provided including comfortable wetsuits, tops and PFD’s to keep you warm and safe. All you need is swimwear/clothes for underneath wetsuits (if the weather is hot you may wish to wear your own leggings and one of our neoprene tops. We will stop for quick refreshments of tea/coffee/ water and a biscuit, cake or fruit to give some energy during session.

You will be asked to arrive at least 20minutes before the workshop start time to complete paperwork and get suited up :-)

Based from Ellerton Lake in North Yorkshire with showers, cafe and parking all on site.

What do you need to bring:

Towel for shower, swim wear/shorts/leggings for under wetsuit, trainers/wet shoes, any medications you may need.

Min age 16, we are AALA registered so can take under 18's with consent from parents or legal appointed guardians.

Cancellation and Bad Weather

Occasionally, due to bad weather (high winds), instructor availability or very low booking numbers, we may need to cancel your paddleboard session. On these occasions we will attempt to reschedule your lesson, and if this is not an option, we will offer you a credit voucher or full refund. We will always endeavour to contact you as soon as we are able to discuss the options with you.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, you will need to give us a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Please email or call us on 07984247519.

Physical requirements

You do need to be a proficient swimmer, and should be comfortable with the possibility of falling into water. While doing the SUP Intro you will be wearing a buoyancy aid but during the SUP Yoga phase there is no requirement as it will take place in a static location in shallow water. During the Yoga session there will also be a SUP instructor available for safety.

A certain level of flexibility and ability to get up to standing from kneeling is required for learning to paddle-board.

We will also need to know of any recent injuries prior to the session.

You are advised to shower / wash after the session if you have fallen in, and need to ensure that any open cuts are covered. We do have hot shower facilities at Ellerton Lake.

Cancellations

Standard: Guaranteed full refund if cancelling 72h prior.

You will be entitled to a full refund under the following circumstances:

  • If your booking is under £200 and you cancelled at least a full 24h prior to the activity start time.
  • If your booking is over £200 and you cancelled at least a full 72h prior to the activity start time.
  • If the centre cancels the activity at any time.

If the conditions on the day aren’t ideal but the activity is still taking place, refunds & rescheduling will only be provided under special circumstance
