SUP Race training sessions

sup - Up to 10 people


Open to adults and Children over 12 years old who have completed a SUP induction( self sufficient on paddle board and be able to self rescue) (Under 18's Must have consent from legal guardian and stay on site during activity)

SUNDAY 09:00-10:30 Adults and Children

The training will consist of at the moment 2 groups of 5 to be able to comply with current restrictions

Each week we will have a progressive programme where we start with some foundation technique and drills and progresses to some fun competitive races, sprints,3km,5km or technical training depending on programme.

Cost £15 Adults and £10 Children per session everything included if required.

 PFD, Nisco 14ft SUP Race board or Red Paddle Ride and lake fees. (Wetsuit £2 extra)

This is a great way to improve SUP fitness or cross train for other sports, most of all we are about encouraging each other with inclusive fun sessions aimed at promoting a bit of friendly competition and also setting some personal SUP goals in supportive environment.

This stand up paddleboard session is open to all abilities, from those new to SUP racing and those who have paddled before. You will need to be able to swim and be confident in the water. A certain level of flexibility and ability to get up to standing from kneeling is required for learning to paddleboard.


SUP training information on sessions

Please arrive at 09:00am

All equipment will be set out ready to go no need to pump up boards 😊

Session will aim to be getting on the water no later than 09:15am

09:15am Warm up and skills and drills

09:45am Race training session as per coach

10:15am Recovery paddle

10:25 am Finish clear boards away and look forward to next session

What to bring?

Towel, Flip flops, Water Bottle, Snack change of clothes

Clothes to wear on water: Sports shirt/base layer, leggings/shorty wetsuit depending on weather.

PPE: Buoyancy aid will be supplied if not got own

Facilities Car parking and toilets on site and café 400m from lake.

Showers/changing facilities are not in use at the moment

Covid 19 restrictions

As you may be are aware, we can only do 1 to 1 session, Family same household groups and mixed groups of up to 5 people at this point in time as per Government and Sport NGB guidelines. It is therefore essential that we look after our self's and others whilst taking exercise in our chosen sport.

What we are doing to limit risk from covid 19:

1.    All equipment is cleaned thoroughly before and after each session and quarantined for 24hrs.

2.    Limited bookings each day to reduce interaction and prepare equipment for session

3.    Sizes given in advance so clean PPE is ready for you. (bring own wet-suit if possible)

4.    Masks worn by instructor if requested on land

5.    Payments done online or use contactless card machine at lake

6.    Hand gel and cleaning products available to sanitise equipment and clean hands.

7.    Strict 2 metres social distancing with participants and instructor

8.    All kit will be laid out ready for you and your instructor will give you a thorough brief before, during and after session

What's required from you:

1.    Do not attend if you have any Covid 19 symptoms(Instructor as well)

2.    You must be an active person, injury free and NOT in the "At Risk Group".

3.    The sport requires you to be able to self rescue back onto your board as to reduce contact with instructor. This is achievable for most moderately fit people. Instructors will guide you on how to self rescue onto board.

4.    Bring towel or rob to get changed in as changing rooms will be closed.

5.    Bring snack and water to re-hydrate

6.    Please do not hang around after and please limit to only essential people who travel/spectate with you.

7.    Bring hand sanitiser of your own and a small first aid kit for example to cover any cuts that may need self applying.(We have a full first aid kit as well)

8.    Don't share equipment during session

9.    Most of all have fun and play safe

Standard: Guaranteed full refund if cancelling 72h prior.

You will be entitled to a full refund under the following circumstances:

  • If your booking is under £200 and you cancelled at least a full 24h prior to the activity start time.
  • If your booking is over £200 and you cancelled at least a full 72h prior to the activity start time.
  • If the centre cancels the activity at any time.

If the conditions on the day aren’t ideal but the activity is still taking place, refunds & rescheduling will only be provided under special circumstance
