2 hour Intro SUP session

Fun, Fitness and Adventure.


You’re never too old to try something new and maybe you might just get hooked

This stand up paddle board session is open to all abilities, from complete beginners, to those who have paddled before. You will need to be able to swim and be confident in the water. A certain level of flexibility and ability to get up to standing from kneeling is required for learning to paddle board.


Covid 19 restrictions

As you may be are aware we can only do 1 to 1 sessions at this point in time as per Government and Sport NGB guidelines. It is therefore essential that we look after our self's and others whilst taking exercise in our chosen sport.


What we are doing to limit risk from covid 19:

  1. All equipment is cleaned thoroughly before and after each session and quarantined for 24hrs.
  2. Limited bookings each day to reduce interaction and prepare equipment for session
  3. Sizes given in advance so clean PPE is ready for you.(bring own wet-suit if possible)
  4. Masks worn by instructor if requested on land
  5. Payments done online or use contactless card machine at lake
  6. Hand gel and cleaning products available to sanitise equipment and clean hands.
  7. Strict 2 metres social distancing with participants and instructor
  8. All kit will be laid out ready for you and your instructor will give you a thorough brief before, during and after session


What's required from you:

  1. Do not attend if you have any Covid 19 symptoms(Instructor as well)
  2. You must be an active person, injury free and NOT in the "At Risk Group".
  3. The sport requires you to be able to self rescue back onto your board as to reduce contact with instructor. This is achievable for most moderately fit people. Instructors will guide you on how to self rescue onto board.
  4. Bring towel or rob to get changed in as changing rooms will be closed.
  5. Bring snack and water to re-hydrate
  6. Please do not hang around after and please limit to only essential people who travel/spectate with you.
  7. Bring hand sanitiser of your own and a small first aid kit for example to cover any cuts that may need self applying.
  8. Don't share equipment during session
  9. Most of all have fun and play safe



Itinerary

Please aim to arrive 15 mins before session start time.

Example below AM session (PM session starts at 1:00pm)

but can be bespoke to the group and weather conditions.


10:30 am - 12:00pm intro to SUP skills, you should all be standing and mastered some basic skills and possibly some more technical skills by the end of this.


All kit and PPE is provided I can cater for most sizes of quality wet suits/cags and I have a selection of neoprene tops if it’s too hot for wet suits. If you have your own wetsuits/shorty wetsuits please feel free to bring them.


£50 pp price covers everything including water fees, tuition, parking, Wet suit, Neoprene top, Windproof Cag, PFD and all SUP equipment.


What do you need to bring:

Cancellation and Bad Weather

Occasionally, due to bad weather (high winds), instructor availability or very low booking numbers, we may need to cancel your paddle board session. On these occasions we will attempt to reschedule your lesson, and if this is not an option, we will offer you a credit voucher or full refund. We will always endeavour to contact you as soon as we are able to discuss the options with you.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, you will need to give us a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Please email or call us on 07984247519.

Physical requirements

You do not need to be a proficient swimmer, but should be comfortable with falling into water while wearing a buoyancy aid.

A certain level of flexibility and ability to get up to standing from kneeling is required for learning to paddle board.

We will also need to know of any recent injuries prior to the session.

You are advised to shower / wash after the session if you have fallen in, and need to ensure that any open cuts are covered. We do not have hot shower facilities open at Ellerton Lake at this point in time.

Cancellations

Standard: Guaranteed full refund if cancelling 72h prior.

You will be entitled to a full refund under the following circumstances:

  • If your booking is under £200 and you cancelled at least a full 24h prior to the activity start time.
  • If your booking is over £200 and you cancelled at least a full 72h prior to the activity start time.
  • If the centre cancels the activity at any time.

If the conditions on the day aren’t ideal but the activity is still taking place, refunds & rescheduling will only be provided under special circumstance
