Description
This is the Day Skipper Theory Course spread out over 10 weeks. It is run on Tuesday Evenings from 6pm-9pm and is on every Tuesday from the 29th September to the 8th of December. This will exclude the 27th of October, and will include the weekend of the 12th and 13th of December for the final part of the course. Before booking this course we advise making sure you are available for all these dates.
This course covers the theoretical knowledge required to navigate safely and begin to make decisions as a skipper, either motor or sail. While it is a beginner’s course, it is best suited to those preparing for a day skipper practical course.
The course covers the basics of seamanship, coastal navigation and pilotage, weather, tides, charts and plotting a course. You will learn about collision regulations, emergency and safety procedures, and the different features of a cruising boat.
