  • Description

Now in its 6th year, this SUP and yoga retreat is for those who wish to escape from your busy life and experience a full day reconnecting mind and body with nature at the beautiful Lopwell Dam on the edge of Dartmoor.

You will be hosted by the SWSUP//Mai Adventures team for a fully catered day of SUP coaching and guiding, various forms of yoga practice and general adventures at the secluded Lopwell Barn on the river Tavy.

Whatever your level, from complete beginner to regular paddler, we will bring on your SUP skills with a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 5 paddlers. When the tide is high there is direct access to the river for perfect SUP conditions and journeys. All complimented by yoga sessions, meditation and nature walks when the tide is out.

Social distancing will be maintained across all activities and we will have exclusive use of the barn with COVID-safe practices in place. Overnight accommodation is not available for this reason but if you are travelling from further afield we can provide information on local options.

    What to expect:

You will be welcomed with a continental breakfast and a chance to meet the other guests before starting your day with a hatha yoga session. This flowing, energising yoga practice will take place on the river bank as the tide rises before we take to the water to begin the adventure. After some individualised SUP coaching from our experienced instructors, we will enjoy a stunning trip down the Tavy through the tranquil Maristow Estate. We will pack a light lunch to enjoy at a secluded picnic spot or stop at The Old Plough Inn in Bere Ferrers. Once back at the barn there is time to relax before an early evening session of yoga and meditation on the grass followed by a delicious BBQ around the firepit.
