Each Island on Loch Lomond has its own story to tell and what better way to discover them than by speedboat? From ancient castles and clan burial grounds to beautiful woodland walks and stunning view points...even a pub, all the islands have something to offer!
The 2.5 hour tour is one of the most popular trips and includes the highlights of the south end of Loch Lomond. This tour takes in two of Loch Lomond's islands - Inchcailloch and Inchmurrin. We begin with a stop on Inchcailloch where you will have about an hour to explore the islands history. A walk to the ruined church and burial ground is a must then continue to the top of the hill for one of the best views of the loch and surrounding mountains.
We then head for the largest island on the loch, Inchmurrin, where we will stop in at the islands pub for a drink before heading back to Portnellan.
Requirements
After arriving at Portnellan Farm there will be a short walk of about 100m to the jetty. You will need to be able to step down from the jetty onto the boat, this can be quite a big step if the loch is low however most people manage without any problems.
Exploring the island can be as relaxed as you want, you can take it at your own pace. If you want to make it to the ruined church you will need to walk fairly quickly.
