  • Description

Book our guided service for Scafell Pike.

Here at LDM, we know the mountain intimately and we have guided hundreds of walkers safely to the summit of England’s highest mountain.

Our guides are knowledgeable, safe and experienced on the mountain and know the terrain well so you're in good hands for your trip.

We have three starting locations for this walk.

1: Wasdale. National Trust lakeside car park.

This is the shortest route up to the summit. A steep climb to Hollowstones and Lingmell Col offers a scenic ascent.

Good for families and beginner walkers - the walk under the Scafell Crags is stunning!

    Up to 6 hours walking.

    2: Seathwaite, Borrowdale.

This is a longer climb, taking in Esk Hause and climbing over Ill Crag & Broad Crag before summiting Scafell Pike, returning via the Corridor route.

Good for those looking for mountain immersion or have done some mountain walking beforehand.

    Up to 7 hours walking.

3: Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Langdale.

The longest ascent of the mountain, through the valley of Mickleden and up Rosset Gill, this will get you up to to Esk Hause and over the large plateau to Scafell Pike.

Good for those looking for a big challenge, with good fitness levels.

    Up to 8 hours walking.

This service is offered to all, whether you wish to climb:

    • On a day of your holiday

    • In the Winter

    • In the dark for sunrise

    • Or be on the top for sunset

    • And even if you need a guide for this section of the three peaks challenge...

LDM is here to make it happen.

A guided walking day is 5+ hours long. We meet for 9:00am and should arrive back at the cars for 3:00pm - this is a six hour day meaning we can reach the high fells and provide a full itinerary for the day.

Half day walks are available on request.
