Open water swim course

Winter is nearly over so here is our new open water safety course to help you understand the dangers. The course involves theory session and a practical session at Viking bay or Walpole Bay pool. The short course is a 6 hour course run by Kent surf schools - Andy Webb 

sponsored by white water dry robes giving everyone on the course 10% off a dry robe ordered through Kent surf school.

Our training team are highly qualified , from RLSS beach lifeguards to RNLI lifeboat crew members all professionals and highly experienced water users, we have all angles covered to give you the best education

For the practical training will have to be at a reasonable level of fitness and be able to satisfy our covid protocols a wetsuit is highly recommended. ( if you need a wetsuit we will be able to provide you one just make sure you let us know on the booking waiver form )

All cancellations must be sent in writing / email wherever possible and will be effective on the date which they are received by Kent Surf School. Cancellation charges are payable as follows: Over 14 days: deposit only, Less than 14 days before lesson date: 100% of total cost payable. Gift vouchers are non-refundable but can be transferred to different recipients, valid for 1 year from date of purchase (seasonal openings only April - September) . Participants that fail to show will be charged in full for the lesson, no exceptions.

Please note that your travel insurance may provide a full refund if the reason for your cancellation falls within the terms of your policy and as such we recommend clients take out a suitable insurance policy prior to booking a course with us.

When booking a course, a contract is made when the booking is confirmed by Kent Surf School either in writing, email or verbally. In the case of late telephone bookings, when written/e-mail confirmation is not possible in time then the agreement is a verbal contract. When making a booking with Kent Surf School you are confirming that you and everyone listed in that booking have read and agreed to these terms and conditions. Exceptions to these terms and conditions cannot be made for any reason as we run an extremely high quality, tight margin program with limited spaces.


Payment of a deposit is required when booking the course or group bookings, full payment is then required 14 days in advance. If the booking is made less than 14 days before the event then full payment will be required upon booking. The date and time will be held until payment is received. Kent surf school reserves the right to cancel the booking should the payment not be received within the specified time. Payment can be in the form of a cheque or BACS. The person submitting the booking form accepts responsibility for payment for everyone listed on the booking form and is responsible for ensuring that all other persons listed on the booking form are aware of the terms and conditions
