    Our beginner Stand Up Paddle boarding lessons are aimed at getting you to be safe in open water and to get you Standing Up and Paddling (SUP), having fun in a safe environment! We will introduce you to the equipment, how to paddle out through small surf, enhanced turning skills, wave selection, positioning and surf etiquette.

    This will allow you to hire SUP equipment from us

    (Over 12’s advised) – children under 12 will not handle the boards


    Junior – 12 yrs upwards

    Adult – 16 yrs and over

    Requirements
    1. Over 12s advised for this activity as the boards are very heavy to handle.
    2. All participants must be able to swim at least 50 metres and should, under no circumstances, be under the influence of any alcohol, drugs or medication at the time of the lesson which may adversely affect their physical capabilities.
    3. All participants suffering any physical or medical conditions, illnesses or allergies, including any prescribed medications, should make us aware of any such conditions or requirements prior to the event.
    4. No-one should participate in any SUP lesson if they are pregnant or suffering from a heart condition.
    What to bring
    1. 'Slim-fit'/Lycra swimwear, to be worn underneath the wetsuit (i.e., no 'baggy' shorts)
    2. Towel
    Itinerary
    1. Meet & greet your selected instructor
    2. Allocation of equipment, wetsuit and SUP at the surf school
    3. A full 2 hour supervised surfing lesson
    4. Assessment of ocean conditions
    5. Beach/surf safety introduction
    6. Introduction to equipment and safe handling techniques
    7. Introduction to using the paddle and standing up
    8. Transitioning to feet, accelerating and stopping/falling safely
    9. Applying newly-developed skills to changing conditions and/or more progressive equipment
    10. Session debrief
