Yin Yoga

Stockton on tees
other - Up to 16 people

Description

Yin Yoga is a passive form of yoga where we work with the meridian lines 'chi' - energy and poses target the connective tissues, joints and ligaments of the body. The practice is medatitive and the poses are held for longer durations, class is suitable for all and modifications and options are given.

We practice letting go in Yin Yoga, and the body is supported in postures using props so that we don't need to hold ourselves in a muscular way at all and we can submit to the pose completely (some props are available to use if you don't have these yourself don't worry, but if you have a blanket to bring and a firm cushion or any blocks that would be great, the more support the better).

If you're someone who sits at home dreading Monday coming around on a Sunday evening or you're a bit stressed out and hold a lot of tension then this is the practice for you. It's also great for people new to yoga who don't want to follow a sequence, it's just great all round really and I love it.

Class starts at 7.05pm (to allow a short change over time between sessions)

Want to attend both Vinyasa & Yin classes? You can do this for the reduced price of £8.00 for both classes please purchase a class pass*

*PLEASE NOTE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND BOTH VINYASA & YIN YOGA BACK TO BACK SESSIONS YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A CLASS PASS FOR £8.00 WHICH IS REDEEMED WHEN BOOKING. YOU WILL NEED TO BOOK ON TO BOTH CLASSES TOO. THANK YOU*

What to bring

Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one and you can bring blocks, a blanket that can be rolled up or a bolster is also wonderful to use to support the body in yin postures, and a strap too if you have one but we can provide these where needed.

Wear comfortable clothing you can move well in and bring a jumper or blanket for relaxation time.

Itinerary

We usually begin with a short settling in time, setting any intentions for the practice and some pranayama (breath work). Postures will be held for longer durations in this practice, usually around 3 to 5 minutes and sometimes longer depending on the pose.
